This print is based on an original painting made with natural paints created from materials like charcoal from our fireplace, stones from the creek, and plants from our backyard, all chosen by me and my loved ones during our daily life. Each color represents a memory.
To make the paint, I crush and grind the ingredients, sift them, separate the heavier parts with water, strain through a coffee filter, and then dry them in the sun. When I paint, I mix the pigment with walnut oil or acrylic, bringing the color to life. The paints I used are just as valuable as the image itself, expressing the earth in ways I couldn't have planned or controlled.
